The newest member, the Royal Princess, is set to sail on a 7-day maiden voyage from Southampton to Barcelona passing Vigo, Lisbon, Gibraltar, and Malaga. The maiden voyage is scheduled on June 16th this year.
According to a Princess Cruises executive, the Royal Princess is the most modern ocean liner in their fleet outfitted with the latest equipment from navigation equipment down to its kitchens. He also said that this new baby will have all the amenities that loyal Princess Cruises patrons enjoyed in the other Princesses except that they have enhanced all these amenities.
To date, Princess Cruises officials say that the enhancements of the Royal Princess were made to make this Princess the grandest among her sisters. These enhancements made on the Royal Princess include: the grandest atrium that is 50% bigger than the atrium of the other Princesses; the largest top deck pool with a water and light show and a new Movies Under the Light screen; balconies on all outside staterooms; an adults only spa that is exclusive only to this princess; a state-of-the-art fitness center; and an adult-only pool surrounded with cabanas that seems to float on the water among others.
However what the executives are very excited about is that the Royal Princess is Princess Live! The Royal Princess is outfitted with a TV and a Princess Cruises official revealed that with Princess Live! They will be presenting broadcast-ready events and an interactive cooking shows, live concerts, late night comedy and even game shows. The Royal Princess will be the very first ocean liner to have its own TV studio on board.
Princess Cruise Lines have also added new restaurant aboard the ship including a seafood bar, an ice cream parlor, and a pastry shop. Their staterooms also boast of new special touches foremost of which is a 37-inch flat screen television with movies, cable and satellite programming.
