Online PR News – 28-January-2013 – Abuja, Nigeria – In support of its drive to raise funds and awareness for bowel cancer research, the Bobby Moore Fund organised a dinner and entertainment event at the Gibson Hall in Bishopsgate, London during January 2013.

The theme of the event was Dining with the Stars, and it featured a one-off charity dinner of five exquisite courses, each cooked by a different Michelin starred chef. The team of top chefs, led by two-Michelin-starred Daniel Clifford of the Midsummer House Restaurant in Cambridge, produced a culinary feast for just 250 guests in aid of the Bobby Moore Fund.

Mr Sanomi was delighted to attend and support this worthy cause. He was visibly active in the fund raising auction and commended Stephanie Moore OBE, the widow of the Legendary Bobby Moore OBE who captained the England team that won the 1966 World Cup. Bobby Moore is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, and was cited by Pelé as the greatest defender that he had ever played against. He passed away in 1993 from bowel cancer.

Mr Sanomi also exchanged pleasantries with Roy Hodgson, the England Coach, who was clearly excited about the huge success of the event. Mr Hodgson wished Mr Sanomi and his guest, the Nigerian Deputy High Commissioner of London, His Excellency Ambassador Oluwatoyin Lawal, the best of luck for the Nigerian football team at the current African Nations Cup in South Africa.

A part of Cancer Research UK, the Bobby Moore Fund currently raises more than £2 million each year through a range of events, partnerships, and activities organised by its supporters. Funds are used to deliver a variety of research programs that will enable a greater understanding of bowl cancer. Current projects include research into the genetics of bowel cancer, new surgical techniques, new treatments and ways to prevent and reduce the risk of developing bowel cancer. To ensure the quality of the work undertaken, the fund also operates the Bobby Moore Research Fellowships, awarded on a competitive basis to leading scientists with proven capabilities.
