One More Page Books Welcomes Author E.J. Dionne, Jr. for Book Signing

Local independent Arlington, VA, bookstore hosts author of Our Divided Political Heart.

Online PR News – 25-January-2013 – Arlington, VA – One More Page Books, an independent, neighborhood-oriented bookstore, hosts an evening with author and political commentator E.J. Dionne, Jr. This event is open to the public and admission is free.

On Wednesday, January 30th at 7 pm, E.J. Dionne, Jr, discusses and signs his highly acclaimed book, "Our Divided Political Heart: The Battle for the American Idea in an Age of Discontent," published by Bloomsbury USA in hardcover in May 2012 and to be released in paperback on January 29, 2013.

"Our Divided Political Heart" examines the deep ideological divide that separates our country. Dionne offers a fascinating, well-researched tour of American history and an analysis of our current politics that shatters conventional wisdom. The true American idea, far from endorsing government inaction or indifference, has always viewed the federal government as an active and constructive partner with the rest of society in promoting prosperity, opportunity, and American greatness. The ability of the American system to self-correct is its greatest asset, and Dionne challenges progressives to embrace the American story.

Dionne is a Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at The Brookings Institution and a Professor in the Foundations of Democracy and Culture at Georgetown University. He is a frequent guest on NPR, ABC's "This Week" and NBC's "Meet the Press" and his twice-weekly op-ed column for "The Washington Post" is now syndicated in 140 newspapers. Dionne is the author, editor, or coeditor of numerous books, including the classic bestseller "Why Americans Hate Politics," which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize and was nominated for the National Book Award. Dionne lives in Bethesda, MD, with his family.
