The most fuel-efficient sedan in America, the 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid, is available in select locations and will soon be coming to Jack Matia Honda.
Online PR News – 25-January-2013 – ELYRIA, Ohio – The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid is making its way to the Northern Ohio area to Jack Matia Honda (jackmatiahonda.com). The Accord Plug-In is the first plug-in hybrid electric car Honda has made and is already setting high standards. Right now, it is the most fuel-efficient sedan in America and the only car to meet the new emissions standards.
The Accord Plug-in Hybrid uses the Earth Dreams technology to power the car. The all-electric model uses a 6.7 kilowatt lithium-ion battery with regenerative braking. It gets 115 mpg equivalent using only electric with a maximum EV range of 13 miles. Once the all-electric battery is worn down, the Hybrid system comprised of an electric motor and a fuel-efficient 2.0L i-VTEC engine will kick on, producing an estimated EPA mpg rating of 47 city/46 highway mpg, the highest among all competitors.
The Plug-in Hybrid can transition smoothly between all-electric drive, gasoline-electric drive, and direct Engine Drive. There is also a button on the dash that can be used to manually switch between these three drive modes. The all-electric Plug-in will start out in all-electric mode and continue that way until the battery runs down at which time it will switch to hybrid mode.
Charging can be done at any 120 volt standard household electrical outlet. It takes less than three hours to recharge from the lowest low-charge indication. For a super fast charge, the Level 2 charger can be used. This is a 240 volt outlet that charges in less than one hour.
Beating out competitors again, the Accord Plug-in Hybrid is stocked with the latest technology. It comes standard with a navigation system, rearview camera for backup assist, forward collision and lane departure warning systems and a host of other features that are extra on most new cars.
Currently, the 2014 Accord Plug-in Hybrid is only available in New York and California, but it is making its way to Jack Matia Honda. Contact the premiere Northern Ohio Honda Dealer, at (866)245-8942, for more information on when the Accord Plug-in Hybrid will be in the showroom.
