The Oviedo-Winter Springs Women philanthropic group presents Recessionista - 4th Annual Women's Symposium, benefitting the HOPE Foundation of Oviedo, FL. Event features speakers, sponsors, fashion show, mini-spa experience, food & more.
Online PR News – 22-April-2010 – – All this talk about the sluggish economy, cut backs and bailouts can really get a girl down. The Oviedo-Winter Springs Women say it’s time to stop fighting it and do what we women do best – take advantage of it!
In that spirit, the philanthropic group is holding its 4th annual women’s symposium on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs. The theme of the symposium is Recessionista. The official definition of a Recessionista is a woman who is smart, savvy, simplified and stylish in all areas of her life. She looks at her world and says, “How can I take what I have been given and make the most out of it?”
This year’s symposium will be hosted by Orlando Fox 35 news anchor Heidi Hatch, and includes a guest appearance by Miss Florida 2009 Rachel Todd. The event promises an enlightening, engaging and very entertaining day packed with speakers, sponsors, fashion show, mini-spa experience, food and much, much more! Tickets are $25, which includes heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The symposium runs from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Because we know that a Recessionista gives back to her community, 100% of the profit proceeds will be donated to the HOPE Foundation of Oviedo. The non-profit’s mission is to prevent and reduce homelessness in Central Florida by equipping individuals and families to become self-sufficient through Housing, Outreach, Prevention, and Education.
Event speakers include: Empowerment coaches Jennifer Lee and Leah Turner with Creating Your Masterpiece, professional organizers Kathy Sink and Giselle Royston with Accent on Organization, Mangia! Restaurant Executive Chef Maureen Simmons, naturopathic health consultant Sue Clemons of Nature’s Sunshine Products and Coupon Diva Cori Garavuso.
