Lakeview Nurseries named among the 100 Most Revolutionary Garden Centers in the America

Lakeview Nurseries was chosen by Today's Garden Center as one of the Most Revolutionary Garden Centers in America

Online PR News – 18-April-2010 – – Lakeview Nurseries has been selected by Today’s Garden Center magazine as one of the Revolutionary 100 Garden Centers for 2010. The Revolutionary 100 Award recognizes the most innovative retail garden center operations - big and small - for their commitment to creating a customer experience that sets their operation apart from the rest and doing so in a way that helps them to be profitable businesses. It's all about being Revolutionary.
This designation is not bestowed upon just any garden center. Participants are required to complete a comprehensive questionnaire, supplying information about marketing strategies, operations management theories and implementation, employee education, customer service programs and community/industry association stewardship. Points are awarded based on the response to each question and the top 100 total scores - regardless of location - are named as Revolutionary 100 Garden Centers. This elite group of 100 becomes a resource for discussing industry trends and benchmarking ideas to share within the industry throughout the year.
Lakeview Nurseries is one of the only garden centers in the country to have converted to an alternative energy source. Lakeview became “powered by the sun” in 2009 with the addition of 26 photovoltaic solar panels installed on their Lunenburg store roof. To date the system has produced over XCXX. Lakeview was also recognized for their continued environmental stewardship because of programs like “Natural Garden Solutions, No Bugs, No Gloves, No Worries” providing customers with natural and organic products for their gardens.
Lakeview Nurseries, with garden centers in Lunenburg and Winchendon Massachusetts is a third generation family business. “Being honored with this award is like winning an “Oscar” or “Grammy” in the garden center industry!” says owners Richard Bursch and Michelle Harvey. “We couldn’t be prouder of our stores, our staff and our communities” she adds.
The Revolutionary 100 list and profiles of the winners are published annually in the January issue of Today's Garden Center magazine.. All the winners were honored at a special award dinner held in late February.
