E-WASTE IT! Electronic Recycling Collection Event
Santa Ana, CA - April 2010 – AES Electronics Recycling, Inc. in partnership with Westfield MainPlace is Celebrating Earth Week with a free recycling event for the Orange County Community on April 24th and 25th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 2800 North Main Street LOT 7 in Santa Ana. Community members are asked to bring electronic waste and AES will recycle their items free of charge. Those who recycle a Laptop, LCD or Computer Tower will receive a $5 gift certificate to Macys.

It is estimated that the average consumer has 2.8 pieces of electronic waste stored in their home and the volume of obsolete electronics equipment entering the world’s landfills continues to rise. E-waste is expected to reach 73 million metric tons by 2015. (Pike Research Firm, 2009)
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Ajello states, “AES needs consumers help to turn these numbers around and keep electronic waste from entering our landfill.”
