FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Houston, TX / April 12, 2010 — Murder, That’s What, by Gillian M. Hanson, is a mystery-thriller that takes readers on a race across southeast Texas as an eccentric group of characters close in on a psychotic serial killer who has a bone to pick one of the team. This 226 paged book ($12.95/ Green Door Press), is the first in a mystery series featuring amateur sleuth, Miss Gladys Danceforth and her partner, Will Beckett.
“The book is about a group of friends living in Much-Binding-in-the-Marsh, a small fictitious community in southeast Texas, who decide to chase a serial killer who has murdered several people using a bow and arrow while disguised as a character from history or literature,” explains Hanson. “That sounds rather grim, but there is a lot of humor along the way as well as informal chats about places of historic interest and descriptions of mouthwatering recipes. The friends are an eclectic bunch and will appear in following books in this series.”
Chronicling their suspenseful chase through small towns as the group solves the murderer’s riddles and unravels his dark past, Murder, That’s What is more than your typical thriller. Hanson has developed her characters into an interesting and varied group who make the story entertaining as much as the crime-solving makes it thrilling. We get a glimpse of small town life and a view that is rarely portrayed of Texas through Hanson’s use of scenery, cooking, clever banter, and riddles that reveal historical facts throughout the case.
This novel will appeal to a large reading audience, especially those who enjoy adventures, historical tales, murder mysteries, and well-developed characters. Murder, That’s What is available for sale online at gmhanson.com, amazon.com and through additional wholesale and retail channels worldwide.
