Online PR News – 12-April-2010 – – There have been many YouTube sensations and the latest to hit the web is a video that makes the viewer feel like they’re high. How is this effect achieved? Doug Slater, the man behind the video explains.
“It’s a three-way combination of hypnosis, binaural beats and optical illusions. The video takes about ninety seconds and afterwards the viewer is left feeling high for ten or twenty seconds. It’s completely harmless of course.”
Doug was quick to point out that the hypnotic mind trick was just that, a trick.
“People may have a similar sensation to being high - blurred vision and a sense of disorientation - but it’s just a trick of the mind. It’s a trick, not a drug.”
Since being uploaded to YouTube the video has had hundreds of viewers, leaving all of them completely amazed at the effect. Why has this video become so popular so quickly?
“I think it’s the taboo nature of it. Recreational drugs are of course a huge taboo in society and even hypnosis seems as if it’s seeped in mystery in a lot of peoples’ minds. It’s this combination that has made the video such a success.”
