In his review of Medifast, McGuiness says it is easy to follow because choices are limited. "It's easier when you don't have many decisions to make” McGuiness explained “Since five of my six meals a day are pre-packaged, I don't worry if I've eaten too much or too little – I can't cut corners. And eating so many small meals stops me from feeling hungry”
Medifast has been around since 1981, originally only within the medically supervised Very Low Calorie Meal Replacement fasting segment of the weight loss industry. McGuiness is documenting his progress on the Medifast diet program on his blog, http://www.verylowcaloriediet.net/.
“Back in early March, I set the goal of losing 50 pounds by April 1. And I did it!”
His long term goal is to lose over 100 pounds and successfully transition from Medifast to a healthy diet. He expects it will take almost all of 2010. “Besides losing 50 pounds, I feel great.” McGuiness reported. “My Medifast exercise program is lifting weights, hiking and doing a weekly Tabata Protocol workout. I can't believe how much more energy I have.”
