Caro brings more than two decades of sales and marketing experience to Acronis, particularly in software, networking, distribution and storage. He will be responsible for setting strategic direction and managing all aspects of the Acronis channel strategy – from distribution and volume to relationships with distributors, resellers, retail partners and system integrators. Additionally, he will oversee Acronis’ efforts in Latin America as well as programs targeted toward the U.S. government.
In making the announcement, Ed Filippine, general manager of the Americas, said, “Acronis recently introduced products in the consumer and enterprise space that matches the critical client demands of our channel partners. Jim is responsible for building the Acronis brand across the channel community, and providing sales, support and marketing programs that immediately add value to our partners and make it even easier for resellers to market, sell and support our industry leading storage management and disaster recovery software.

Caro joined Acronis from Boston-based Reactions & Opinions, a market research firm. There he served as vice president of sales and marketing and established the firm’s core go-to-market strategy. Previously he held senior business development and executive sales positions at FilesX, where he established strategic relationships with top-tier business partners; and Network Engines, where he introduced new products and developed the strategic channel sales and marketing program. Earlier he held senior management posts at Giganet and PC Connection.
