On December 13th, the Broward Sheriff’s Office will be recognizing 55+ Magazine, Nelson A. Garcia, Director of Administration and 55+ Magazine Publisher, Humberto Fortuna with a Special Recognition Award for the Dedication and Support of Civil Rights and Social Justice Issues. This award will be presented at the Annual Awards Ceremony at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale by Sheriff Al Lamberti.

55+ Magazine had the pleasure of having Rita Moreno on our premier issue cover with a personal interview via phone for our reader’s pleasure. Gracing our second cover was Julio Iglesias who was promoting his World Tour at the time. 55+ Magazine has also had the pleasure of featuring Dionne Warwick, Lynda Carter , Joan Collins and Jaclyn Smith in 2011, and in 2012, Louis Gossett Jr., Cheryl Ladd, Suze Orman and Mary Wilson.
