Hedgepig Theatre are taking to the road in 2013 with Miss Julie by August Strindberg.

Online PR News – 05-December-2012 – Yorkshire, UK – Following successful local productions, the York-based Hedgepig will be spreading their wings to venues across Yorkshire. Director Andy Curry says “We’re really excited to be taking Miss Julie to new audiences across the region. We’ve had fantastic support from our hometown of York, both from local creatives and audiences. As a company we have big ambitions and it’s great to be able to extend our reach, and with such an incredible play!”
With an exciting new adaptation by co-founder Gemma Sharp, Hedgepig Theatre’s retelling of Strindberg’s revolutionary play Miss Julie, sets this classic tale of lust, power and betrayal against the backdrop of the decadent and debauched Jazz era, where both a sexual and class revolution were bubbling under the surface.
Miss Julie reunites the same creative team behind Hedgepig’s critically acclaimed productions of Playhouse Creatures and Double Barrel, including costume by designer Julia Smith, original score by Alexander King and lighting design by Kelli Zezulka.
