The vision, mission and goal of the First Baptist Church is to preach the gospel to the spiritually and economically poor; the
brokenhearted; to those who are in spiritual, emotional, physical and financial captivity; to give sight to the spiritually blind; and to
those who have been emotionally wounded and bruised by life's battles. The church’s 2009 focus is Service, Salvation and Stewardship. Bishop Leslie Patterson, Jr. arrived at First Baptist Church of Sterling in 1995 and has tripled its membership since that time. The church sanctuary is a new state-of-the-art worship center designed to serve both the congregation and the community-at-large. Its goal is to touch individuals and families and shepherd them through their spiritual growth.
