New e-Learning Software Promises Better Faster Online Course Review for Captivate, Articulate, and Lectora Courses

Rapid Intake announces new online collaborative review software for e-learning course developers.

Online PR News – 01-April-2010 – – Are you developing e-learning courses with Captivate, Articulate, Lectora, ProForm, or Flash? If so, your life just got easier. Rapid Intake, a leading e-learning software company, announced today its new online collaborative course review software, called REVIEW™, that allows any course developer to post a course online and collect and manage course review feedback and comments.

“eLearning development is a collaborative process and e-learning course review has long been one of the primary headaches for project managers,” says Garin Hess, Rapid Intake CEO. “REVIEW™ is going to help e-learning project managers sleep at night. I know from my own experience.”

Having to collect and manage feedback from subject matter experts (SMEs), quality assurance testers, legal and marketing departments, and anyone else who needs to weigh in on the project can be a challenge without software designed for this purpose. REVIEW™ tracks feedback notes, threaded comments, attachments, alerts, and more in one centralized location. It even automatically captures information about the reviewer, where the reviewer was in the course when the feedback was submitted, and relevant system information, such as the web browser and operating system.

REVIEW™ is a subset of Rapid Intake’s award-winning online course authoring software, Unison™. Built on the Rapid Intake collaborative eLearning development platform, Unison™ is a web-based solution that lets designers and subject matter experts (SMEs) collaboratively capture, storyboard, develop, review, test, and publish Flash-based courses —without having to know Flash. Novice users and content owners simply fill out form-based templates to create interactive Flash-based courses, while advanced users and communities create reusable custom templates by accessing the Flash source code (.fla).

“This software is so easy to use,” says Steve Hancock, President of Rapid Intake. “Being so simple to use greatly increases the chances the course reviewers will actually spend the time reviewing.”

Once the feedback notes are collected in REVIEW™, project managers can assign notes as tasks, attach files, send notifications to team members, and more.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of the new software is the licensing—every licensing level has unlimited users (i.e. reviewers) so that project managers don’t have to worry about purchasing a license when new reviewers need to be added to a project.

Rapid Intake is also advocating a agile methodology for course review they call “microcycle testing” that claims to shave off eight percent of the time it takes to conduct e-learning course quality assurance testing and still come out with better courses.
