Online PR News – 22-November-2012 – Fort Myers, Fla. – Goodwill Industriesâ Sixth Annual Festival of Trees, presented by FineMark National Bank & Trust, opens Nov. 23, 2012 at the historic Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center in Fort Myers. The week-long event will feature 25 beautifully decorated holiday trees, the Childrenâs Holiday Workshop, and the elegant Tux & Trees Gala. Last yearâs event raised $56,000 to support the Southwest Florida Goodwill Foundation, which provides long-term financial support to the programs and services of Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.
âThis yearâs Festival is bigger than ever,â says Madison Mitchell, Goodwillâs Community Relations Coordinator. âOn Saturday, Nov. 24, we have a Brunch with Santa, and an outdoor street festival. In the evening, the River District will be celebrating its annual Holiday Stroll, and the Art Center will host a special holiday concert by the Beatles tribute group, âThe Nowhere Band.â [Fort Myers] Mayor Randy Henderson will even be on hand to light the wreath outside the Art Center before the concert begins.â
This yearâs festival features a very eclectic mix of trees, with a wine-themed tree, an upside-down tree, and many more. In addition, there will be gift certificates to jewelry designers, restaurants, and salons, plus a âStar Warsâ Planetarium and much more for guests to enjoy.
The Festival will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Nov. 23 to Nov. 28, and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.
Families are invited to bring their children to the Festivalâs Childrenâs Holiday Workshop. For a $6 per child admission fee, children can play holiday games, create ornaments and cards, enjoy stories, and more. The childrenâs workshop is open Nov. 23 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Nov. 24 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Nov. 25 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Finally, the charitable and glamorous Tux & Trees Gala concludes the Festival on Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m., when all of the Festivalâs trees will be sold during an exciting live auction. Wreaths and other extravagant items will be available in a silent auction. The evening will be hosted by Stacey Adams of WINK News, and auctioneer Mike Joyce of Gulfcoast Coin & Jewelry.
