Their have been reports and rumors that Nokia is going ahead with their plans of buying out Novarra and that the talks between the two companies are in progress. The deal has not been finalised yet but is expected to take shape and be executed before July 2010.
Online PR News – 30-March-2010 – – Nokia which has been looking for something fresh in the mobile browsing software section is going to take over Novarra which is US based company which basically deals in the development of mobile phone browsers. There are yet to be any financial numbers being quoted by either of the companies. There is also no official confirmation on both side as these are reports and most of the information has been received from an article from Reuters. The deal is expected to be done before July 2010.
Nokia is expected to use the mobile internet browser software available and being developed by Novarra and this will be used in their handsets once the company is bought. The S40 platform of the Nokia mobile phones series will be using these software's. The company however has officially mentioned that they will take care of the present clients of the company and their will be no major changes in Novarra on account of this take over. The US based company is a very successful company and has been catering to client like Verizon Wireless, 3 in Italy and Hong Kong, Turkcell, Yahoo and Vodafone UK.
Nokia has mentioned that the next billion consumers will be accessing the internet through their cell phones or smart phones and thus the company want to be thus prepared for this expected outcome and thus as always manage to stay ahead of the competition.
