Choices and Options in Older Life
Network and website of older people’s services in the Perry Barr Constituency

It can be a real problem for older people to find out and connect to local services, which is why cool-info was created. HOBPCT and the City Council recognises this as a problem and so supported and funded Age Concern Perry Barr development of the website. Cool-Info can give older people real choices to enrich their lives or just make their lives easier by connecting them to the correct services.

Cool-info provides a directory of services and activities offered by non for profit organisations for the over 50's initially in the Birmingham areas of Perry Barr, Handsworth Wood, East Handsworth and Lozells and Oscott. There is a wide range of Services and activities which includes art and craft groups, home repairs, exercise groups, visiting service, information and advice and counseling and support among others. Our aim is to connect people in older life to information and services which would benefit them in many different ways in areas of Birmingham.

As we get older it is important to maintain a social life and to stay physically and mentally active. For instance developing new friendships and learning new skills can enhance a person’s wellbeing. Cool-info has a wide range of services and activities on it’s register that can help meet many of these needs and offer new options.
If you require help with household chores or simple maintenance Cool-info can help you connect to these services and get that vital care and support you may need and are entitled to.
Presently cool-info is offering a unique service information service that allows older people to refer themselves online. Cool-info’s solution has been tested on groups and is found to be very effective in offering real options and it is looking forward to a bright future. Age Concern Perry Barr will be managing the network and website.
