Interfaith Sammelan and a Enviornmental protection for world peace was organised in Rishikesh

Online PR News – 08-November-2012 – Ajmer, Rajasthan – On November 3, 2012 The Dargah Deewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, the direct decendant oof Hazrat Khwaja Saheb and also the Religious Head attended the interfaith sammelan held at Rishikesh with the top leaders of the world’s religions at Environmental Protection for World Peace. The leaders of Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Christianity, Judaism and Bahai from India and from across the world, joining together to discuss the crucial role that religious/spiritual leaders need to play in protecting and preserving our environment.

It is no longer enough for the world’s religious leaders to instruct their followers in tolerance, acceptance and non-violence. The role of religious leaders must expand to include exhorting their followers to live mindfully, consciously and in accordance with a sustainable future. They must emphasize to their followers the importance of protecting and preserving our Earth’s natural resources.

The event in honor of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji’s 60th birthday celebrations. Revered leaders from the Christian, Muslim, Jain, Sikh Buddhist and Jewish faithpresent were Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji , Swami Shankaracharyaji , Swami Ramanandacharya ,Archbishop Vincent Concessao , Shri Kalbe Sadiq Sahib , Shri Imam Umar Iliasiji Maulana , Wahiduddin Khan and Shri A.K. Merchant.

It is probably the biggest event Rishikesh has ever had, and it is definitely the first time that so many revered saints of all the world’s traditions, so many dignitaries, celebrities and politicians have come together on one stage.
