Montclair, New Jersey November 1, 2012: Lori Sperber, President and Founder of Running on Love, Inc. has announced a special fundraising campaign, Surviving Sandy, to support those most affected by Hurricane Sandy. This fundraising campaign is part of the Running on Love in Montclair 5k Run/Walk being held on November 11, 2012. The Heritage Community Bank (HCB) of Morris County New Jersey is providing sponsorship support for this fundraising campaign and supports its mission to provide help to those hardest hit by this devastating storm. Funds from Surviving Sandy will be held in special account set up with the HCB of Randolph New Jersey. The Running on Love Board is establishing a special committee to determine the beneficiary charities, people and organizations where the funds will be distributed and provide the most good.

Sperber says “I founded Running on Love because it was my desire to provide a means for ordinary people to support large and small causes of their own choosing and provide them an opportunity to find joy in giving back. With the advent of Hurricane Sandy, this crystallized the very reason why I created Running on Love and have decided to make this my life’s work”. Lori and the Running on Love Board are dedicated to ensuring that funds raised by Running on Love for the Surviving Sandy fund will be dispersed in a transparent, ethical and profoundly humane way.

In 2009 Lori founded a NJ Non-Profit 501(c)3 Corporation, Running on Love, dedicated to helping people and charities give their help and hope to those in need. Its mission is to organize charitable fundraising events for individuals and groups that would like to provide a powerful “gift of love” to a cause or charity that is important to them. These fundraising events are encouraged to be done as a tribute and dedicated in honor or memory of someone inspiring motivation and a higher purpose. Running on Love has organized and mentored its team members to participate in a multitude of 5Ks, half and full marathons and has been designated beneficiary charity and affiliate of the New Jersey Marathon for 3 years running.

Running on Love’s mission is to provide a unifying opportunity to bring people together under the banner of love in a physically active and empowering way while devoting themselves to bringing attention and charitable donations to a worthy cause or a person of their choosing. They are hosting a milestone event called Running on Love in Montclair, a 5k run/walk on Sunday November 11th, 2012. This event is a first of its kind where people are able to dedicate their run or walk to honor a loved one and raise funds and awareness for a charitable cause of their own choosing.

In light of this devastating Hurricane, Lori has formed a special team: Surviving Sandy == which will raise monies specifically for those affected by Hurricane Sandy. Running on Love empowers everyone involved to express their love for someone special, brings help and hope to charitable causes and people in need and fills the void of wanting and hoping to do more.
