Online PR News – 03-November-2012 – San Francisco, CA – ZOOLOOK, an award-winning design studio and publishing house, today released DREAD & ALIVE #0 in comic book format. The 36 page issue officially kicks off ZOOLOOK's plan to launch a three graphic novels series entitled, DREAD & ALIVE: A Hero's Journey. Created and written by Nicholas Da Silva and drawn by legendary artist Rodney Buchemi, DREAD & ALIVE #0 takes us back to the year 1795 where fifty years of peace between the Maroons of Jamaica and the British is being threatened by several conflicts that could ultimately divide the Jamaican Maroons forever. Renowned Colorist, Michael Kelleher, contributed colors for this special issue release.

Nicholas Da Silva, founder of ZOOLOOK and creator of the Dread & Alive series said, “I'm really excited about the release of Dread & Alive #0. For me, it's a chance to take an important event in Maroon history and intertwine it with the fiction side of Dread & Alive.”

ZOOLOOK will release the first of the three graphic novels in the fall of 2013. Fans interested in reading all three novels will get their chance on April 20, 2013 (4/20). ZOOLOOK plans to release a special box set featuring all three novels that make up the Dread & Alive Saga. The set will include a concept album featuring original music inspired by the series. A crowd funding campaign is also in the works to offer fans of the series cool limited edition perks based on the series. These special perks will will only available for a limited time.
