Ivory Chevrolet Proud of the Chevrolet Hurricane Relief Effort

Ivory Chevrolet is proud of Chevrolet’s hurricane relief effort that includes donating vehicles, funds and more to the Red Cross.

Online PR News – 03-November-2012 – Atlanta, GA – Ivory Chevrolet is pleased to announce that Chevrolet will be donating over 50 vehicles to the Red Cross in order to assist with the relief efforts. Hurricane Sandy swept through the east coast causing a lot of destruction, and much hardship. In order to help aid in the relief and recovery efforts Chevrolet is donating cargo vans, Travers Crossovers, and Tahoe SUVs.
These vehicles will help bring food, supplies, volunteers and more. There has been a lot of hurt that needs fixing so Chevrolet is doing its best to help make sure things are moving as soon as possible.
“It is during disasters like this that we all need to pull together as a country and Chevrolet has a role in that,” said General Motors Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson. “Making these vehicles available quickly where they can do the most good is something we can do right now.”
In addition to donating vehicles Chevrolet is going a step further. OnStar, is providing 300 wireless hands-free calling minutes, and three months of the “Direction and Connection” plan. This will allow the vehicles to not only stay connected, but know where they need to go.
GM is committed to supporting the relief efforts taking place on the east coast. In fact, they also donated $250,000 to the Red Cross Disaster Responder Program. These funds were used for providing immediate disaster relief everywhere in the country. There are so many different things these funds are used for including food, shelter, blood products, and more.
“GM’s generous donation of vehicles and the GM Foundation’s donation of finances will help the American Red Cross to respond with shelter, food and care, aiding affected residents now and after the storm, as they move toward recovery,” said Neal Litvack, Chief Development Officer of the American Red Cross
