Sexting has become a national epidemic among children and early teens.
Online PR News – 26-March-2010 – – Thirty-nine percent of teens have sent sexually suggestive text messages to other teens, and twenty percent have sent nude or semi-nude pictures or video of themselves. With sexting on the rise, many parents need to know what their child is doing on their cell phone. But simply knowing what they’re doing isn’t enough. Certain activities may need to be blocked.
"There are software applications available today that can safeguard children. Software that allows parents to monitor and restrict their child’s mobile phone and gives parents a safeguard against the overall challenges and dangers of a child having their own cell phone, including sexting," says Alena Pastuch CEO of Idendego.
The software allows parents to filter out activities they don’t want to happen and block their child from communicating with specific phone numbers. Specific websites and applications on the phone can also be blocked. The child can additionally be restricted from using the phone at certain hours the parent specifies, such as during school hours. Software programs silently run in the background after every start of the phone. The program can also be fully hidden if the parent requires covert monitoring. As activities happen, the program silently uploads logs to the parent’s private account, which they check online without needing access to the phone, including a copy of the actual text, photo or unauthorized and/or unknown phone number in question in real time.
"Software that allows you to monitor your child's texting and talk with them before they send anything irretrievable or illegal out into the world is essential today for protecting your children," adds Pastuch.
