European funded RTD project U-QASAR brings together leading organizations from five different European countries to create an innovative web tool that helps software development professionals to be aware of the quality of their projects in real time

Online PR News – 01-November-2012 – Helsinki, Finland – Innopole, S.L, consulting company from Castilla - La Mancha (Spain), which offers services in the field of Research, Development and Technological innovation since 2001, coordinates the European funded RTD project U-QASAR (Platform for the assurance of quality in software applications with volatile requirements) under the 8th call of the ICT subprogramme of the 7th Framework Programme. The kick-off meeting of the project was held at the Hotel San Juan de los Reyes in Toledo this week, bringing together leading organizations from five different European countries: technology centers ATB-Bremen (Germany) and SINTEF (Norway), Aalto University (Finland), the software development companies CONTACT (Germany) and Intrasoft (Luxembourg) and the digital business development company VAIBMU (Finland). The software quality consulting company MTP (Métodos y Tecnología de Sistemas y Procesos, S.L, based in Madrid) completes the Spanish participation in the consortium.
In the U-QASAR project, Innopole and its partners propose to create a web tool that helps software development professionals to be aware of the quality of their projects. This solution will be composed of several semantic services based on open standards, which will be able to detect changes in the scope and requirements of an application (or changes in its development process) and provide the right set of assessments to give an accurate and objective measurement of the quality at any time. The U-QASAR consortium will also research in the field of business models applied to cloud platforms to exploit the results of the project in the near future.
U-QASAR started on October 1st and will end in September 2015 and it has a budget of over 4 million EURO. Aitor Elorriaga, Innopole RTD manager and responsible for the technical coordination of the project, expects as a result of it that "U-QASAR will make available to European development companies and their customers a powerful tool that will allow them to know the status, reliability and quality of their services on the web at all times. With U-QASAR we will also offer a groundbreaking business model, aligned with the needs of the Future Internet ".
