Château de Rivau Castle Events Program: Charity Auction of Wine Loire Valley Wines

Set within a UNESCO world heritage site, Château du Rivau is a French castle that combines medieval and Renaissance architecture with fairytale gardens. The château is open from April 1st to November 11th each year.

Online PR News – 01-November-2012 – France – Château du Rivau is proud to announce its Sixth Charity Auction of Loire Valley Wines, to be held 16h00-18h00 (French time) on Saturday 3rd November 2012. The auction, which has become an annual fixture in the castle events program, will take place in the stunning setting of this beautifully restored medieval and Renaissance French castle, located in France’s Touraine wine region. All proceeds of the auction will go to the Autism Research and Maladjustments Prevention and Foundation (Association pour la Recherche sur l’Autisme et la Prévention des Inadaptations, ARAPI, www.arapiautisme.org.)

Partnering Château du Rivau at the Loire Valley Wines Charity Auction will be winegrowers from the local vineyards, auctioneers Philippe and Aymeric Rouillac, Loire Valley wines bard Jean-Jack Martin, and a host of notable personalities from French associations for the promotion of fine wines.

Among the many fine vintage Loire Valley wines which will feature at the charity auction are numerous bottles which have been awarded stars or have gained the accolade of “Editor’s Favourite” by one of France’s top wine publications, the Hachette Guide. Red, white and rosé wines will be on offer during the sale, with appellations including AOC Chinon, AOC Menetou-Salon, AOC Coteaux du Layon, AOC Rosé d'Anjou, AOC Pouilly sur Loire, AOC Pouilly Fumé, AOC Muscadet Coteaux de la Loire, AOC Montlois sur Loire, AOC Touraine Rouge, AOC Touraine Blanc... The charity auction will round off Château du Rivau’s 2012 program of castle events, but the French castle is already involved in preparing for its 2013 season. Highlights will include: Garden days, June 2nd and 3rd; jousting tournament, July 14th; classical concerts in summer and autumn; and the 2013 wine auction, November 2nd.
