Tattoos have been used as cultural symbols since Neolithic times among many tribal populations, some were a form of rank, title and accomplishments, and some believed that tattoos had magical qualities.. The patterns represented the totems of individuals.

Born in Croydon, London to Irish parents Jackie Edwards is now based in Rosslare Harbour, Co Wexford, Ireland. She has been painting since childhood and attended Dun Laoghaire School of Art and Design and has held and taken part in thirty-eight exhibitions to date both group and solo.

The main body of her work focuses on figurative and portraiture pieces, often using strong imagery with oils or oil and egg tempera as her main medium.

Her paintings are realistic, they very often tell a story and show the essence of the subject.

The exhibition launches on the 9th November and runs until 12 noon on the 19th November, 10am- 5pm Daily.
