Honda Joins Effort of Developing Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles
10/31/2012

In its continuous efforts to go green, Honda is working on the development of a vehicle powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.

Online PR News – 31-October-2012 – El Paso, TX – "In 2002 Honda became the world's first carmaker to put a fuel cell car on the road with regular customers, delivering the Honda FCX to fleet users in the United States and Japan. We want to continue to lead the way for fuel cell technology across the world including Europe,” stated Ken Keir, Executive Vice President, Honda Motor Europe in an interview with AutoBlog.com.

Just recently, Honda renewed their dedication to developing hydrogen fuel-cell electric vehicles by signing the Memorandum of Understanding at the 3GF conference in Copenhagen. The Memorandum of Understanding directly addresses putting more effort into developing these hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles in the European countries. Honda has been actively working in this alternative fuel industry since the mid 1980s.

In an effort for the ultimate zero emissions technology, Honda has joined the efforts to help develop a convenient and plausible hydrogen refueling infrastructure for the cars that run on hydrogen fuel cell power. This solution of further developing the hydrogen fuel cell electric cars for Nordic countries such as Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland will cut greenhouse gas emissions.

These hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles have been called a car that is the "best of both worlds" in that the only emissions from the car is water vapor and receives about the same mpg conversion as a typical car with a full gas tank.
