Online PR News – 31-October-2012 – CHARLESTON, South Carolina – 2013 Ford F-Series Trucks competed at the Texas Truck Rodeo near San Antonio recently. According to Palmetto Ford in Charleston, South Carolina, four trucks and utilities drove away with top honors in key categories.

The Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) put on the Texas Truck Rodeo where they distribute “Truck of Texas” honors. This year’s winners included the 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty in the Heavy-Duty Pickup Truck category, the 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor in the Off-Road Truck category and the 2013 Ford Escape in the Compact SUV category. The 2013 Ford Explorer Sport also won the Mid-Size Luxury Sport Utility category.

“Texas is the No. 1 one truck market in the United States, and Ford is the best-selling truck in Texas,” said David Mondragon, Ford Motor Company General Marketing Manager. “Texas truck buyers have helped F-Series continue as the nation’s top-selling truck for 35 consecutive years and the best-selling vehicle for the past 30 years. We’re also proud that Escape sales are on pace to surpass last year’s record sales and that Explorer sales are up 17.2 percent this year.”

Ford F-Series Trucks have earned “Truck of Texas” honors in eight of the past 10 years and Ford has claimed the title of “Truck Line of Texas” in 13 out of the past 14 years.
Ford claims the largest portion of the light- and heavy-duty pickup truck market in North America with 38 percent. That portion continues to grow as shares increase and consumers purchase more Ford trucks.
