To learn more about the campaign or how to get involved see Kia’s release at http://www.kiasilverlakes.co.za/insider_news/lend-us-a-hand-to-help-the-impoverished-in-south-sudan/.

Kia has been involved in the Global End Poverty Campaign since 2007. The campaign that started only in England in 2005 has since grown to about 120 countries worldwide through the help of Kia’s global reach. Kia has sold white wrist bands to help raise funds and awareness in the fight against hunger, and over the years they have become the calling card of the Global End Poverty Campaign.

Kia’s most influential ad to date that has helped raise awareness for the Global End Poverty Campaign is a commercial in which celebrities, including, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Bono, Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, Liam Neeson and many others, snap their fingers once every three seconds to symbolize one of the most eye-opening statistics related to poverty. Each snap represents a child who has died to due extreme poverty. Narrated by Liam Neeson, the ad opens people’s eyes to the realization that these deaths of someone’s sons and draughts are completely avoidable if people are able unite against poverty. Kia has also turned to Facebook to help raise awareness. “The Facebook ‘Like’ strategy was chosen as a way to effectively maximize awareness of this ongoing problem due to the viral ‘newsfeed’ function of Facebook,” stated in a Kia news release. The donation amount will not increase or decrease because of the amount of likes. No matter what, Kia will donate enough food to feed 100,000 hungry families.
