Online PR News – 30-October-2012 – Cleveland, TN – Don Ledford Chevrolet in Cleveland, TN releases details regarding Chevrolet’s plans to unveil the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette.
Chevrolet recently confirmed that the completely redesigned 2014 Corvette will debut in Detroit at the North American International Auto Show on January 13, 2013. Don Ledford Chevrolet in Cleveland, TN is excited to soon carry the redesigned sports car that has become an American icon in the automotive industry.
The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette has been dubbed the C7, and will mark the seventh generation of the Corvette nameplate. Chevrolet has completely redesigned the Corvette for its next generation. The interior will show off new sophistication that some consumers have said recent versions of the Corvette have lacked, and the sleeker, more modern exterior should be a formidable competitor to emerging exotic cars from foreign markets.
“With the new Corvette, we set out to build a world-challenging sports car with design, refinement, efficiency and driver engagement that is second to none. The result is a truly all-new Corvette. There are only two carryover parts from the C6 used in the C7 – the cabin air filter and the rear latch for the removable roof panel,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer.
Although consumers have yet to see the redesigned Corvette, they have been given a sneak peak at the sport car’s new emblem. The new emblem is a variation of the black and white checkered flag crossed with a red Chevy flag that has adorned the Corvette since its inception in 1953. There were over 100 options that GM considered for the Corvette’s new emblem, but they ultimately found the perfect one.
“The all-new, seventh-generation Corvette deserved an all-new emblem,” said Ed Welburn, GM vice president of global design. “The new Crossed Flags design reflects the character of the next Corvette. The flags are much more modern, more technical, and more detailed than before – underscoring the comprehensive redesign of the entire car.”
