Nissan Teams with Sony Playstation® to Turn Best Video Game Driver to Professional Race Driver

America’s best video gamers have a chance to become a professional racing driver with the Nissan GT Academy Competition.

Online PR News – 30-October-2012 – Syosset, NY – Back for a second season, Nissan GT Academy is a competition that aims to turn one of America’ best Gran Turismo® video gamers into a professional racing driving. The competition is a collaboration of Nissan North American with Sony Computer Entertainment American and Polyphony Digital and will be documented through episodes airing on SPIKE TV and the Nissan YouTube channel.

Out of 400,000 registered Gran Turismo® online gamers, 16 finalists were chosen to be a part of the Nissan GT Academy. Gran Turismo® is one of the best and most realistic driving video games with its authentic graphics and vehicles, as well as true-to-life physics and car simulations. Nissan GT Academy has proven to be successful in the past with one former winner winning the P2 Class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2011.
Host by Dhani Jones, the GT Academy television series will kick off on Thursday, November 1st on SPIKE TV. Viewers can watch the challenges and intensity every week as video gamers try to become professional drivers.
