Recently the institute had organized a lecture on E-waste management by Dr.Laxmi Raghupati for the students of MBA in Energy program. E-waste has often been a cause of concern for managers across industries. The interactive session organized by SIIB aimed to help the students understand the role of E-waste management in the smooth functioning of the corporate. The students of MBA in International Business program were also treated to an enriching experience in a guest lecture by Mr Praful Talera (CEO of Dynamic Logistics)on the topic: "The Strategic Flow and the Challenges of the International Trade". Citing the evolving global economic scenario, the lecture came across as an excellent session for students detailing the role they would be expected to play as managers in the near future.
Being home away from home, the SIIB campus also sees students participate in several festivities all throughput the year. Early this month, the students at SIIB also came together to host a grand Durga Puja celebration coupled with a Bengali food festival on the 13th October at the campus. Keeping the festive spirit alive, SIIB students also hosted Joyfest under their social initiative wing, Prayatna. Fresh from celebrating the Bengali tradition, the students of SIIB are now gearing up to host Navratri celebrations on the 20th October. As soon as the students are back from their Diwali break, SIIB will be ready to bring in the New Year. In fact, SIIB has already made plans to initiate 2013 with a bang as, ‘Anusmruti ‘and IGNISENSE ; two of SIIB’s major events are scheduled for January 2013.
Amidst these festivities, SIIB’s joy was doubled as few students from the MBA batch of seniors received pre-placement internship offers.
