2013 Buick Regal with Innovative Powertrains Available at Nimnicht Buick GMC
Online PR News – 27-October-2012 – Jacksonville, FL – Later this year, the all-new 2013 Buick Regal will be arriving at Nimnicht Buick GMC. Packed with updated and innovative powertrains, the Regal stands out from the crowd. Standard on the luxury sport sedan is an advanced eAsisst powertrain that gets the Regal 36 miles per gallon on the highway. Optional is the choice between two powerful turbocharged four-cylinder engines.
Instead of the complicated system of gigantic batteries and electric motors that hybrids employ, Buick eAssist implements a single compact lithium-ion battery in conjunction with a small electric motor. There are several benefits to eAssist. To name a few, there are the start/stop functionality (turning the engine off when the vehicle idles), regenerative braking (storing energy that would otherwise be lost), and electric motor assist (reducing the gas engine’s work).
Stephen Poulos, eAssist global chief engineer, stated, “With eAssist, Buick is redefining what a ‘conventional powertrain’ means to customers. It changes the fuel economy – but not the experience – for the 97 percent of new car buyers who aren’t buying hybrids.”
Drivers interested in a little more power for their Regals have the choice to opt at no extra cost for a Regal Turbo (a 2.0-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine that delivers 220 horsepower) or for Regal GS, which generates 270 horsepower and is considered one of the most power-dense vehicles that the Society of Automotive Engineers has ever certified. The Regal GS also offers Brembo brakes, unique design cues both inside and out, and HiPer strut suspension technology. Both turbocharged engines include variable valve timing, as well as direct injection, and are offered with automatic or manual transmissions. The eAssist is offered exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission.
As the Regal reaches its 40th anniversary in 2013, Nimnicht Buick GMC is celebrating with great deals on the all-new 2013 Buick Regal when it hits the showrooms later this year.
