The resort has been recognised for the first time as The Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Resort, and for the fifth time as featuring the Indian Ocean’s Leading Villa, the Baros Residence (http://baros.com/baros-residence). The World Travel Awards are awarded by an international panel after expert scrutiny, based on votes by travel and tourism professionals worldwide. The accolades acknowledge the commitment to excellence demonstrated in the last twelve months by the recipient properties.
The three awards to Baros Maldives are especially impressive as the resort beat competition from famous international brand name hotels in the Seychelles and Mauritius, as well as in the Maldives.
The ceremony to present the World Travel Awards Asia, Australasia & Indian Ocean 2012, was held at InterContinental Singapore. The three awards were accepted on behalf of Baros Maldives by the resort’s popular, young executive assistant manager, Mr A. Shuhan.
