Industry leaders and management experts lend their presence to the various summits
that formed part of the event
Online PR News – 19-October-2012 – New Delhi – International Management Institute (IMI), India's leading B-School and part of selected few globally benchmarked schools accredited by the gold standard in management education - Association of MBAs (AMBA) held its management and cultural festival, CONVENTUS 2012 from 6th to 14th October. Organized by the student community, each day of the Festival was dedicated to exploring various aspects of their field: management, marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, manufacturing, HR and economics. The highlight of the event was industry leaders and management experts from prominent backgrounds sharing their views and experiences with the students at the various summits and this management fest was concluded by SANGAM, a Mini Marathon to raise funds for the NGO Vidya, supporting the cause of Integrated Development of Youth and Adults marked the closure of Conventus.
Conventus 2012 was inaugurated by Ms. Nupur Mitra, Chairperson and Managing Director of Dena Bank, Dr. Sanjeev Gemawat, Senior Vice President with DLF group,Mr.Ramesh Vaswani, Executive Vice Chairman of Intex Technologies, Dr.AashaBhandarkar, PhD in Business Administration and IMI’s own Padmashree Dr.Pritam Singh. The objective of this year’s event was to explore the ‘Role of Corporate India in reviving the Indian growth story.’ Srijan, the Marketing summit heralded the beginning of the Festival. Eminent speakers from companies like Nestle, Mother Dairy, Dhara, Leo Burnett and others formed part of this summit. The topics that were touched upon include “Entering Global Markets”, “Repackaging and Repositioning – need to adapt”, “Future of Advertising – adopt, improvise, succeed” and “Targeting Rural Customers”.
The second day PRAHELIKA, the finance summit of IMI organised by Finalyze, the finance club of IMI saw CMDs, CFOs and MDs of prominent financial institutes and banks like SBI, RIL, Max New York among others shed light on the financial market, its complexity and its impact on the Indian economy. Day 3 emphasized on the Manufacturing Sector, in SAMVEG, organised by Genesis, the Operations club of IMI. Here, bigwigs from IBM, Maruti, TCS, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Hero Motocorp, LG and others spoke on a range of issues related to the often understated manufacturing sector. Day 4 was the HR summit SAMANVAYEE organised by the Human Edge, the HR Club of IMI. Esteemed representatives from KPMG, MTS India, Ranbaxy and others held forth on raging HR issues from “Transformation of HRM” to “Managing Gen Y” and the importance of HR as strategic partner.
Arthavad 2012 organised on the fifth day by EconIMI, the Economics club of IMI, had opinion makers from The Economic Times, Financial Express, Airtel Money Transformation Programmes, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Accenture etc share rare insights about the economy today. EMPEZAR, conducted by the E cell of IMI witnessed speakers from Weareholidays.com ,Floost.com, MBAUniverse.com, Box Beat Technologies, Naukri.com, Netway India Pvt. Ltd., relive their entrepreneurial journey with students. MANTHAN was aptly chosen to draw the curtains on CONVENTUS for this year. The event was organised and coordinated by all the clubs of IMI. It was an event where topics from all streams were collated under one roof like “Redefining Labour Relations”, “Investment Opportunities in India” and “Marketing Failures.”
The IMI Culsec team, alongwith the Student Council of IMI ensured the serious discussions were followed by recreational activities students could unwind and take a breather with a performance from the Pakistani Sufi-Rock band RAETH, where students unwind themselves and take a breather. Conventus 2012, the IMI Management Conclave served as a converging point of industry experts across business disciplines and management leaders of the country. It imparted a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom to students while setting a benchmark for upcoming festivals.
Established in 1981 with the support of IMI, Geneva (now IMD Lausanne), IMI is India's first corporate sponsored B-School. At its Delhi campus, IMI conducts a regular post-graduate two-year diploma programme in Business Management (PGDM) and a program in Human Resource Management (PGDM-HR). IMI, Delhi also conducts a 15- Month Executive Post Graduate Diploma program in Management (Executive PGDM) for middle-level managers with global exposure and a three-year PGDM (Part-Time) program for working executives. In 2010, the institute also started a Fellow Program in Management (FPM).
