DrFirst has been a key partner in this process and has helped the gMed team to deliver a superior e‐prescribing solution. gMed’s electronic prescribing solution is integrated with the physician’s workflow and is compliant with the industry standards.
gMed’s e‐prescribing functionality includes the ability to receive patient benefit information from payers connected to the Surescripts network. Prescribers using gMed’s EHR can also, with a patient’s permission, request aggregated history of patient prescriptions from payers and pharmacies. Connectivity also allows gMed prescribers to send new prescriptions to over 85% of the nation’s pharmacies, and manage prescription renewals electronically. The certifications, along with the addition of dose‐checking to this release, provide the functionality required to meet the definition of a qualified E‐prescribing system for both the MIPPA and HITECH acts.
