MESA, Ariz. - (March 17, 2010) - A cool economy has created some hot deals for Arizona homeowners who need to replace old or faulty air conditioning units with new energy-efficient models.
Homeowners could get a triple play of savings on the purchase of qualified heating or cooling systems including up to $1500 in federal tax credits, manufacturer rebates of up to $1,000, and utility company rebates of up to $575.
"This is an excellent time to replace your old air conditioning unit because of these great deals!" says Bob Ferrin, owner of Ferrin's Air Force Cooling and Heating, located in Mesa, Arizona.
Replacing your old unit with a new energy-efficient unit can also reap big rewards in the long run, saving homeowners an estimated 25% in cooling and heating costs per year. That means that if your average air conditioning bill is $300 a month in the summer you could save as much as $75 a month!
The federal tax credit is available for homeowners who place qualifying
systems (for air conditioning or heating) in service between Jan 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2010.
In addition, both APS and SRP have rebate programs that will give
residential customers up to a $525 cash rebate for replacing an existing central heat pump or central air conditioner with a new, high efficiency heat pump or air conditioner. Consumers need to use an APS or SRP rebate certified contractor and install a qualifying system.
