Vanses launched its fashion website in 2011 and has become one of the most successful fashion brands in the world. Pricing will be key to its success in Sydney and on first inspection, appears competitive. A black blazer for $29, sparkly suede heels for $39 and a T-shirt for $19. “It’s not about being cheap it’s about being affordable” says Lara. “Pricing will be in line or lower than other online store”.
"VANSES is already such a successful fashion brand - It is the best online fashion store for women". Lara says, "I’m here to enhance what’s great about it and that’s the product. If you have good product then you’re 90 per cent of the way there. Products and customers are the focus of VANSES"
So who does Lara see as the target customer? “She’s traditionally quite young - around 18-28 years old – but I think that, in truth, the tunnel is much wider. One customer's daughter is 14 and has just discovered it. and a customer – and she’s not put off by me wearing it. It’s an unusual situation for everyone to be able to shop in the one online store."
One of VANSES’s many innovations has been designer collaboration ranges that bring major fashion names to the masses. “We’re always looking at new designer, countries and markets – so an Australian collaboration is entirely possible," Lara adds.
