IIM-A organised a two-day speaker series and invited the core team of the famous television series, Satyameva Jayate, to the campus and picked up marketing insights from them.
Online PR News – 03-October-2012 – Noida, UP – It was a unique experience for students of IIM Ahmedabad as they soaked up some marketing lessons and insights from the core team of recently concluded television series Satyameva Jayate, hosted by Bollywood actor Amir Khan. The team was invited to the IIM-A campus as part of Insight 2012, the marketing conclave of the institute.
According to students who attended the program, the Satyameva Jayate team spoke about the kind of research it did before and after the telecast of the series.
Maintaining a veil of secrecy, IIM Ahmedabad refused to divulge the names of the team members of the show. However, it is learnt that the chief coordinator and three other members of the team addressed the students.
The team of Satyameva Jayate broadly shared how market research and business analytics helped them decide on various elements of the show, including target audience, show timing and the kind of issues to be picked up from the whole gamut of social evils.
The team also shared the methodology of utilizing the huge amount of data available via social networking sites and mobile messages to tap public interest.
Started in 1986, Insight has entered its silver jubilee year in 2012. Kapil Kapoor, global chief operating officer of Timex, and the first secretary of Insight, inaugurated the event on Saturday morning. Mr. Kapoor was one of the founding members.
The two-day speaker series that kick started on Saturday also hosted a program on ‘Brand Stories’ which was addressed by Anand Halve, chief co-founder of Chlorophyll, a brand & communications consultancy firm, and Rahul Raushan of Faking News, an Indian news satire website that publishes cutting-edge satire on political and social scenario of the country.
On the concluding day, an event was organised on entrepreneurial wizards of IIM-A.
The ‘Speaker Series session’, under which the three above mentioned events were held, was a new addition to Insight. The series tried to bring in eminent speakers from different strata of the society and industry on the same platform.
