Affinion Group Strengthens Leadership and Management Team

One of the global leaders in customer engagement solutions, Affinion Group, Inc., has announced that the CEO, Steve Upshaw, will also be President of Affinion Group.

Affinion Group works to extend the relationship and loyalty of customers to businesses in the e-commerce, financial services, hospitality, and retail industries.

Upshaw’s Extensive Work at Affinion

Along with the new position, Upshaw will continue to act as the CEO of Affinion International. He will report to Nathaniel Lipman, the CEO and Chairman of Affinion Group. Lipman formerly was the President of Affinion Group.

Many of Affinion’s management staff will continue in their current roles and will still report to Lipman. This includes the Chief Financial Officer, Todd Siegel, the President and CEO of Affinion North America, Tom Rusin, and Affinion Group’s General Counsel, Len Ciriello.

Why Upshaw

According to Lipman, Upshaw his played an important role in the enhancement of Affinion’s competitive and financial positioning thanks to his leadership and vision. Lipman feels that the leadership that Upshaw, Siegel, Rusin, Ciriello, and the Chief Operating Officer, Bob Rooney, can bring to the company, along with their strengths and skills, is a definite asset to the company. Between them, the management team has a combined 50 years of experience working with Affinion.

The bigger role for Upshaw demonstrates the company’s hope to expand on the leadership team’s overall experience and allow them to focus on business areas that can help Affinion move ahead and effectively capitalize on its work.

Upshaw has worked with the Affinion Company since 1995 and has been CEO of Affinion International since 2005. During his term working for Affinion International, Upshaw was able to increase sales over a third. At the same time, he diversified the revenue portfolio and helped to improve the profitability of that branch of the company. Several new retail programs were launched, and now the branch reaches a much larger geographic area and over 600,000 subscribers.

Upshaw will be working out of the Connecticut office where the company headquarters are based. Under the role of President, Upshaw will oversee the overall operations and systems for Affinion. This includes billing, customer service, data security, general administration, and information technology.
