Online PR News – 21-March-2010 – – BELLEVUE, Washington – With the Date Check mobile application in tow, Intelius, which was founded by Naveen Jain, decided to host a Dream Date contest for visitors to the International Consumer Electronic Show. The information commerce company is a leader in the industry, and through innovations like Date Check, it strives to give consumers and businesses the information needed to make good decisions for their security and safety.

The contest took place in January at the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas. It was held live onstage in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center inside of the Living in Digital Times exhibition area. The contest highlights the features of Date Check, which had been selected as one of Mobile Apps Showdown’s top ten finalists. Visitors to the Consumer Electronic Show would vote for their choice of the best mobile application.

For the contest, Intelius, whose CEO is Naveen Jain, invited visitors to the Consumer Electronic Show to participate in their version of the Dating Game. During the contest, one lucky bachelorette had to choose between three eligible bachelors. After she asked the usual first date questions, the bachelorette also put her potential dates to the test using the Date Check mobile application.

Date Check is an instant background check that allows the user to check for information like criminal records and financial information like home ownership. The idea is that the information Date Check provides will allow daters to make informed decisions.

According to John Arnold, Co-founder and Executive Vice President of Business Development for Intelius, Date Check allows users to find out information that would not normally be discovered for days, weeks or even longer immediately. By having this information upfront, Intelius hopes to save some users from making decisions that they will later regret. He believes that the visitors to the Consumer Electronic Show are among the first to try out new applications and gadgets, making the show an ideal place to demonstrate how Date Check can revolutionize the dating scene.

Visitors to the Consumer Electronic Show who wanted to be a contestant on the Date Check Dating Game show were asked to register in advance at Intelius’ website. There the interested visitors were asked to fill out a brief application. Intelius then selected a total of nine bachelors to compete on stage for a date with the bachelorette. The winner of the live show received lunch for two with the bachelorette, along with a pair of tickets to one of the top Las Vegas shows.

All of the information provided by the Date Check application is collected from public records. Mobile users interested in the application can download it from the Apple iPhone App Store or the Android Marketplace.
