Rally to Promote Jobs, Opportunity and Diversity

Online PR News – 25-September-2012 – Berkeley, CA – Libertarian presidential candidate, Gov. Gary Johnson, plans to make his only California appearance at UC Berkeley, September 25th, during his three-week college tour. The former two-term governor of New Mexico will be speaking to promote jobs, opportunity and diversity. Gov. Johnson will be meeting with supporters and attendees beginning at 11:00 a.m. answering questions, signing autographs and taking photographs on UC Berkeley's Sproul Plaza before taking the stage and speaking at 12:25 p.m., with other guest speakers taking the stage at 12:00.

Gov. Gary Johnson is crisscrossing the United States on his tour, visiting 15 different universities and colleges, meeting with student groups and supporters while spreading his message of fiscal conservationism and social tolerance on campus quads and in student unions and lecture halls.

“As I travel the country, I've found that young people are as concerned as anybody about where this country is headed – maybe even more so, since they know the national debt will be theirs to inherit,” Gov. Johnson said. “I've met countless young people who are fed up with government overspending and overstepping its bounds. Whether the topic is a mandated health-care program or marriage rights, young people are rejecting the notion that these very personal decisions should be the government's call.”

“Along the campaign trail, I've been thrilled to find tremendous support from people in their twenties who are embracing liberty like never before, thanks in large part to the historic influence of Rep. Ron Paul,” Gov. Johnson continued. “I'm excited to launch this tour, and to met hundreds of young people in the coming weeks. I'm looking forward to hearing their ideas and to creating a dialogue about America's future with the Americans who have the most at stake.”

In addition to Gov. Gary Johnson speaking at the event, co-sponsored by the East Bay Libertarian Parties and Cal Students for Liberty, Dr. Marty Nemko, host of the weekly education/employment program “At Work with Marty Nemko” (KALW) and frequent guest on the Ronn Owens' radio show (KGO) will also speak. Other speakers include: Marilyn Singleton, Independent candidate for U.S. Congress, District 13; Dale Gieringer, Ph.D., state director of California NORML; and Dale Sky-Jones, President and CEO of Oaksterdam University.
