Doeren Mayhew, a Michigan-based certified public accounting and consulting firm with locations in Troy and Houston, was recently ranked among the nation’s largest and
best-managed accounting, tax and business consulting firms by INSIDE Public Accounting (IPA).
Based on submissions from every major accounting firm across the nation, Doeren Mayhew was recognized as one of the 50 “Best of the Best” firms for 2012. Doeren Mayhew has received this distinguished recognition 17 of the 19 years the list has been published – a recognition no other Michigan-based accounting firm has ever received.
In addition, Doeren Mayhew ranked 71, up from 73 in 2011, in terms of annual net revenue size in the publication’s “2012 IPA 100 Report” on the largest firms in the nation.
For more than 20 years, IPA publisher The Platt Group has created the IPA 100 to serve as a comprehensive, current snapshot of the financial and operational health of the nation’s largest accounting firms. According to this year’s report, mergers are still a dominating growth factor in the market, but organic growth is making a comeback, up to 5.6 percent, compared to 1 percent in 2011.
To honor those firms with stellar management performance, IPA also published its 19th
“Best of the Best” list. Based on more than 50 management and operational metrics, the top 50 firms received this honor for their well-managed and well-executed examples of how to succeed in the industry.
“’Best of the Best’ firms represent the top firms in the nation. Each firm demonstrates the right combination of vision, planning and execution to deliver superior performance,” says Michael Platt, principal of The Platt Group and IPA publisher. “Firms that earn this designation represent the best of what the accounting profession has to offer.”
Helping the firm earn its spot on the lists is a focus on growth that has included a 2010 merger with a Houston-based firm, says Mark Crawford, Doeren Mayhew managing partner.
“We are honored to be named a 2012 IPA 100 firm and recognized for the 17th
time as a ‘Best of the Best’ firm,” Crawford says. “Doeren Mayhew has a lot of great things happening right now as we work to reach new clients through an expanded national footprint while adding expertise for our existing client base.
Our ability to balance sustainable growth and sound financial management is a direct reflection of our clients’ continued success and performance as well.”
