Online PR News – 06-September-2012 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil – On 25^th August 2012, a gas leak resulted in an explosion and blazing fire at the Amuay Refinery in Venezuela, killing 48 and injuring more that 150 people. The fire which spread to three storage tanks, forced authorities to shelve plans for quick restart of the 645,000 barrel-per-day facility. More that 500 homes were damaged in the incident.
This episode has brought to the fore the gravity of such incidents which not only cause huge amounts of damage to life, property and the environment, but also tarnish the reputation of the organisation.

The forum will also focus on topics related to prevention of chronic diseases in the oil and gas industry, industrial hygiene, controlling air emissions and hazardous waste management.
