Users can take advantage of extremely fast OCR technology to convert scanned PDF documents in 10 popular languages to editable text without having to retype the content to a new document by hand.
Online PR News – 15-March-2010 – – PDFOCR.net today announces PDF OCR 3.0, its new application to convert Adobe PDF documents to editable text by using an advanced optical character recognition technology (OCR). Delivering support for 10 popular languages and super fast OCR engine, which is about 90% faster than any similar algorithm, PDF OCR performs instant recognition of characters and conversion to text without the need for manual retyping.
Sometimes users have to reuse the content of a PDF document but cannot copy it because the document was created from a scanned image. To overcome this obstacle, users retype the required information to a new document. This takes time and efforts that could otherwise be put into more important tasks. It doesn’t have to be that way. With PDF OCR, converting PDF documents to editable text can be a matter of three mouse clicks.
PDF OCR converts PDF documents to text quickly and automatically. Running the program opens an easy-to-follow interface, which is divided into the window for a PDF document and text editor. To begin, the user uploads a document into the program and runs the recognition. A dialog opens that offers several OCR modes, such as a single page, range of pages or all pages at once. After selection, the user clicks the START button to start the process. The program recognizes all words extremely quickly, being able to process 10 pages in 45 seconds.
Once conversion is over, extracted text appears in the text editor. The source and target documents are displayed side-by-side, so one can check the results of recognition easily. If some word in the text is recognized incorrectly, the user can make changes in much the same way as in Windows Notepad. Converted text can be edited, moved to a new document, cited, pasted to Google Translate for translation and much more.
The program recognizes Adobe PDF documents in 10 most popular languages, including English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. More languages will be available in future releases.
