Cougar the Musical by Donna Moore centers around three fiery women with an appetite for young, hot men. During their journey of self exploration they learn to love themselves while discovering what it truly means to be a cougar. The multi-talented cast consists of three stunning over-forty women and one ultra-sexy boy toy that perform original musical numbers that include “Julio” a romantic ballad sung to a vibrator. “Clarity”, portrayed by Braxton is a vivacious cougar whose upbeat humorous personality will charm audiences. “I am thrilled to be part of such a great production that empowers women in such a fun and meaningful way,” said Braxton.
When the term cougar was originally coined, it essentially referred to women over forty with a preference for dating younger men. However the definition of a modern day cougar has expanded to include setting personal expectations, renewing an excitement about life while holding true to her personal choice not to be defined by the age of the man she chooses to have in her life. When asked to share her definition of a cougar, Braxton replied, “Cougars are smart, sexy, independent women that could care less about what other people think.” From bars and dating websites that cater to cougars to prime time television shows like Cougar Town; the world remains infatuated by mature hotties. Cougar the Musical will host “The Wednesday is the New Thursday” pre-show dance party with discos hits from the 70’s and 80’s and includes free Cougartinis.
