Aberdeen's most shopped destination is bringing top electrical brands Currys and PC World back on board

Online PR News – 25-August-2012 – Falkirk – Aberdeen's most shopped destination is bringing top electrical brands Currys and PC World back on board after both signed a 10-year lease with the Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centres to open a new concept store on site. Currys and PC World are owned by Dixons Retail, one of Europe's largest electrical retailers.

Opening later this year, the store will be leasing a 4186 sq ft unit at a rent of £200,000 per annum.

The signing of the popular electronics brand comes on the back of a number of new lettings for Bon Accord and St Nicholas which is owned by the Scottish Retail Property Limited Partnership (a joint venture between Land Securities and British Land).

Last month the centre announced that affordable clothing chain Internacionale and greetings card shop The Card Factory will soon be opening. American snack outlet Mr Pretzel also recently opened at the shopping destination.

This builds on the arrival of leading food brands Yo! Sushi, Di Maggio's, Prêt a Manger and Café Rouge which recently joined the centres' new look food terrace, created as part of the recent £8 million refurbishment of Bon Accord & St Nicholas.

Stuart Doherty, Regional Manager, for Currys and PC World, said: "We are delighted to be upgrading our offering in Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centres. The old Currys.Digital outlet built up a strong customer base in the centre over the years but our new '2 in 1' Currys PC World store will offer local customers an even greater range of electricals, a totally new and improved customer service proposition and the best prices.

"The Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centres are a vibrant shopping destination with an excellent choice of brands on offer and we look forward to working with the centre in the future."

Katherine Armstead, portfolio manager for Land Securities, said: "I am thrilled to welcome Currys and PC World to the Bon Accord & St Nicholas Centres.

"The centres have seen a number of new brands come on board over the past few months. This along with the arrival of Mr Pretzel is yet another piece of good news for the centre."

Currys and PC World add to the strong retail offering at Bon Accord and St Nicholas and builds on the momentum of our recent £8 million refurbishment."

Bon Accord & St Nicholas is home to a number of stores unique to Aberdeen, including John Lewis, Swarovski, River Island, Karen Millen, Kurt Geiger, Lipsy, The Body Shop, Hobbs and Jo Malone and Scotland's largest Next.
