The coach tour operator has placed an order for brand new 49-seater Mercedes Benz Tourismo vehicles, having been impressed with the performance and reliability of their previous vehicles.
Online PR News – 23-August-2012 – CHORLEY – Alfa Travel today announced that it had placed an order for £2,000,000 worth of new coaches for delivery in time for the 2013 season.
The vehicles are Mercedes Benz Tourismos equipped with 49 seats with 3 point retractable seat belts, armrests and integrated headrests.
Customers will benefit from Webasto heating, roof mounted air conditioning, Blaupunkt CD/Radio and coffee machine. The 49 seat vehicles will also include centre sunken fresh water toilets and hot water boiler.
Managing Director, Paul Sawbridge commented: “We first ordered Mercedes Benz vehicles in 2011 and have been delighted with their performance. They are reliable and comfortable and the Mercedes Benz service network means they can be maintained to a high standard even when they are away from base.
"They are more fuel efficient than the older vehicles they replace and our clients have been delighted with the light, airy interiors and extremely comfortable seats. This order means that our fleet is now almost 50% Mercedes Benz and we anticipate purchasing more vehicles of this type in coming years."
When the coaches are delivered, Alfa’s fleet will be one of the most modern in the UK, almost equally divided between Volvo and Mercedes Benz running gear.
Alfa is famous for providing quality coach travel and runs a large operation which covers most major population centres in England and Wales by means of four separate operating areas: North West England and North Wales, North East England, the Midlands and the South East of England.
