Scope branded sacks for home movers sees unwanted items donated to charity.

Online PR News – 23-August-2012 – Brighton – Through a unique and popular partnership launched this year, Bishop’s Move, the UK’s largest privately owned removals company, can today announce that it has raised £23,000 worth of donations for leading charity Scope since the inception of the campaign in January 2012. The specialist ‘De-clutter Service’ involves Bishop’s Move providing home movers with Scope Charity Donation Sacks prior to their relocation should they wish to donate any unwanted items to the charity. On the day of the move the Bishop’s Move vans collects and stores the items, which can range from clothes to electrical equipment, ready to be picked up by Scope’s representatives.
So far, Bishop’s Move has donated a total of 1,173 sacks to Scope with Bishop’s Move’s Cambridge branch leading the way on 254 sacks closely followed by its Exeter and Crawley branches who are on 230 and 195 respectively.
The initiative puts customers in a position to donate items to those who really need it instead of simply throwing it away and wasting products and goods. If there aren’t enough Donation Sacks for a customer’s needs, Bishop’s Move will provide more through a supply kept throughout the company.
Recently, to celebrate the partnership, Bishop’s Move and Scope took part in a nationwide press call where a Bishop’s Move van stopped nearby to a Scope shop and volunteers passed a bag of donated items from the van to the shop This feeling of a ‘relay’ coincides with the Olympic year and brought a sense of community spirit to the overall campaign.
Chris Marshall, Bishop’s Move Marketing Director comments: “We continue to be humbled by the generosity of our customers. There are millions of people out there who need our help and its partnerships such as this which can help change lives for the better. It will also help those who are moving home, which has often been dubbed as the most stressful life experience. This project will enable them to plan in advance and sort out any unwanted goods early, knowing that it will be in the hands of one of our most loved and recognised charities in Scope. The total of donations is growing rapidly so who knows what position we’ll be in come the end of the 2012.”
To help take the stress out of moving home for its customers, the Bishop’s Move & Scope initiative will empower individuals and families alike to de-clutter by donating any of the following items into the Scope Charity Donation Sacks - Clothes, Shoes, Boots, Bags, Costume Jewellery, Handbags, Belts, Books, CD’s, DVD’s, Mobile Phones, Bric-a-Brac, Small Electrical Items and even furniture.
