The Davis County “DUO” Program Will Provide Assistance to Low-Income Seniors and Those Living with Disabilities

Online PR News – 22-August-2012 – Salt Lake City, Utah – August 22, 2012 – Rocky Mountain Care Foundation 501(c)(3) announced today their DUO (Do Unto Others) program has begun to help homeowners living in Davis County.

“We are thrilled to start our ‘DUO’ program,” said Dede Fluette, Executive Director of Rocky Mountain Care Foundation. We have been busy raising funds for ‘Duo’ this summer at our charity fundraisers and are excited to utilize these funds to help the people of the Davis County community. We are lucky to have several dedicated volunteers who have decided to help us with our program.”

Through the “DUO” program, the Foundation utilizes the work of volunteers to assist low-income homeowners who are seniors or those living with disabilities in Davis County with critical but minor home repairs and seasonal yard maintenance. In formal partnerships Americorps VISTA, the Foundation is able bring these services to the community. It is the goal of “DUO” to help this vulnerable population remain in their homes and be independent for as long as possible.

In addition to the “Duo” program, Rocky Mountain Care Foundation's charitable healthcare initiative covers the cost of essential healthcare (services, equipment, pharmaceuticals, Co-pays, premiums, etc.) for low-income individuals without sufficient financial or insurance resources. The Rocky Mountain Care Foundation also places 10% of all fundraising proceeds into a scholarship fund to assist individuals with educational costs in the medical fields.
